Chief Executive Officer, Virtuozzo

Kurt Daniel is a technology executive, founder, board member, and advisor. He is a five-time CEO with experience at Axyom.Core, Kansys, Titan.ium, Ubersmith, and Virtuozzo and a three-time startup executive with experience at MongoDB, Worklight, and Parallels. Earlier, he was a product management leader at Microsoft and a management consultant at Kearney.

In addition to his executive experience, Mr. Daniel has served as an independent board member or advisor to dozens of organizations, including Acronis, Code Climate, Datadog, Intermedia, Kloog, Lightyear, the MariaDB Foundation, Next Orbit, Quicksave Interactive, Raia, Samanage, Wonderflow, Zlago, and several top venture capital and private equity firms globally.

Mr. Daniel is on record as a proponent of AI as a productivity tool and thinks organizations should do more to help employees and external stakeholders overcome concerns about AI and reduce stress associated with its adoption.

His company, Virtuozzo, is a member of the global Constructor Group ecosystem. Previously, Mr. Daniel was the founder of Ubersmith as an independent company and sold it to the Lumine Group, which later went public. He then led three larger Lumine Group companies through rapid transformation, growth acceleration, and profitability increases as a result of industry-first product innovation, improved business strategy, stronger go-to-market execution, new and deeper partnerships, and team strengthening. At one of these companies, Axyom.Core, he served as founding CEO post-spinout from Casa Systems.

Prior to Ubersmith, Mr. Daniel helped rename 10gen to MongoDB and helped establish it as the leading modern database platform. Before MongoDB, he helped establish Worklight as a leader in web and hybrid application platform software before its acquisition by IBM. Before Worklight, he helped rename SWsoft to Parallels and helped it grow to more than 1.5 million customers in over 100 countries as a leader in virtualization software for consumers, businesses, and service providers.

His domain experience includes operating systems, virtualization, cloud infrastructure, AI infrastructure, cloud services, databases, development tools, subscription management, usage billing, and device management.

Mr. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Virginia and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
